New York, 24 March 2026 — Speaking on Tuesday, 24 March 2026 at the United Nations Security Council, during the 10124th meeting devoted to the situation in the Middle East, including the Palestinian question, the Democratic Republic of the Congo called for moving beyond mere statements of principle in favor of concrete action, as well as pragmatic and sustained efforts, in order to restore trust and revive a political momentum conducive to lasting peace for all the peoples of the region.

In the statement delivered by Ambassador Jocelyne Kabengele Lukundula, the DRC stressed that the current period requires, beyond the reaffirmed commitment to the principles of international law and agreed parameters, a renewed engagement by the international community in support of initiatives capable of creating the conditions for de-escalation, the restoration of trust, and a credible resumption of the political process.

Through this statement, the Democratic Republic of the Congo reiterated its commitment to an approach grounded in dialogue, collective responsibility, and the search for lasting solutions, in full respect for peace, security, and the dignity of all the peoples of the region.
